The Infrastructure Academy is a regulated utility and critical infrastructure industry focused workforce recruiting, vetting, onboarding, and training initiative of the Energy Innovation Center Institute, Inc.
The objectives of the Infrastructure Academy are three fold,
Leverage the exceptional results of the EICI to diversify the high-road jobs of the utility and critical infrastructure industries in the Appalachian region
Expand innovative and dedicated training space to prepare a qualified, well-trained, regional workforce to be Day-1 Work-Ready to address the looming worker gap of 600,000
Upskill incumbent workers in the new skills, cybersecurity and AI enhanced skills work for demands of the energy and power industries
Having already recruited, vetted and trained 310 candidates for full-time employment through its innovative hub and spoke facility design through its Equitrans and UGI training hubs, the innovative Infrastructure Academy Regional Training (I.A.R.T.) facility is expected to train that 7,000 people annually. Construction of the first sign is expected to begin in 2026. It will serve the Pittsburgh Tri-state Appalachian Region and serve as a national model.
